Through each of his projects, he ensures the successful and timely implementation of engineering at Essentia. Brian believes that collaboration with the team is essential to guarantee that projects are financially sound. He will be working closely with those he hires and trains to build a pipeline of strategic vendors. Ultimately, Brian brings innovation and technology into Essentia’s Engineering practices.

Career Highlights

Before Essentia, Brian spent four years with T.Y. Lin International as a Senior Civil Engineer and nine years at HBK Engineering as a Program manager. At HBK Engineering, he focused on cities such as Los Angeles, New York, and Chicago. A significant part of his responsibilities was relocation work for utilities in advance of large Department of Transportation (DOT) projects. Recently he was involved in 20 markets for FTTH engineering design and permitting. His favorite project included working in an abandoned freight tunnel in Chicago. The 6’ tunnel was 40’ below the ground, 63 miles long, with one exit, no lights, hazardous air, and water up to chest level. Despite the intense conditions, this was a perfect place to run conduits through downtown to avoid impacting residents.

Connecting Everyone, Everywhere to a Better Life

Brian frequently volunteers at Habitat for Humanity, helping families build and improve places to call home. He is a major advocate/supporter for the Hispanic American Construction Industry Association (HACIA), Everytown for Gun Safety, and NAACP Legal Defense Fund.  He also has training in LGBTQ+ Ally.

Awards/Accolades

Brian has the special honor of being a Professional Engineer in the states of Michigan, Illinois, Wyoming, Texas, Washington, Indiana, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and North Carolina.
