When someone does an awesome job, you might give them a fist bump. Or an elbow tap. (We’re pretty sure that the high-five is still in time-out.)
At Essentia, we share Shout-Outs, peer-to-peer recognition that someone has gone above and beyond in representing our Values.
So when after a rigorous pole audit, Real Estate Specialist Mark White shared the following regarding OSP Engineer Louis Trevino, it was too good to keep in house.
Shout-Out!
I wanted to give a well-deserved Shout-Out to Louis Trevino!
We wrapped up Phase 1 of the Pole Audit this past Sunday. Throughout the project Lou was an invaluable resource and truly had all of Essentia’s core values on display. Here are but a few examples:
- Innovation: Due to the way the project data was supplied, we were faced with some adversity in keeping track of our progress. We played around with a few options, but it was Lou who came up with the best solution to solve our immediate problem and keep us moving.
- Collaboration: Lou worked closely with me to help plot an efficient game plan for each day. Two heads were definitely better than one!
- Impact: Lou’s energy and drive helped to motivate the team and were instrumental in getting us to the finish line several days sooner than I had projected. Over the course of the 2-week project, our 3-person team visited more than 3,000 poles across a dozen municipalities. Lou’s competitive spirit quickly turned our daily production numbers into a friendly contest, and though he didn’t win every day, he kept the bar set high throughout the project.
- Judgment: Lou was very mindful of keeping our field expenses low, exhibiting good stewardship of company resources.
Lou’s efforts had a major impact on this project and I have no doubt that he will continue to excel at anything that comes his way. Lou is a shining example that Essentia truly does hire the best people. I hope I have more opportunities to collaborate with him in the future.
Mark, we couldn’t have said it better. Thank you both for living the Essentia values!
